Today, the first day of an international-level professional training course on “International contract law and investment agreements” took place at the Training institute for lawyers under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The training sessions were conducted by partners of the international law firm Baker Botts (United Kingdom) — Mr. Alistair Wishart and Mr. Nabil Khodadad.
The first day of the course covered the following key topics:
- Stages of project implementation and scheduling;
- Approaches to risk allocation;
- Strategies for negotiating EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts;
- The ten most frequently negotiated issues.
During the subsequent session, participants examined the specific features of project financing in the energy sector, including:
- Core characteristics of project financing;
- Major risks associated with projects;
- Sources of financing;
- Phases of the project financing process;
- Case studies from Uzbekistan and Turkey.
This course is conducted with the participation of leading experts from globally recognized law firms, including White & Case, Foley Hoag, Squire Patton Boggs, Curtis, Mayer Brown, CMS, and Baker Botts.
