Another session on international trade law was held at the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Legal Personnel under the Ministry of Justice.

The session was delivered by Nikolay Mizulin (Mayer Brown International LLP, USA). During the lecture, participants were introduced to the following topics:

• The WTO and its institutional structure

• Key rules and principles

• Rules on “unfair” trade practices

• Exceptions: trade and other societal interests

• Current challenges to the multilateral trading system, U.S. tariffs, and global responses

• Regional / preferential trade agreements

• Expected impact once Uzbekistan becomes a WTO Member

These courses are aimed at providing participants with comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of modern processes and requirements in international trade relations.
